Spiritual Works of Mercy for the Holy Souls in Purgatory

1st Tuesday Devotion to the Holy Souls

When

December 1, 2026 - December 2, 2043
12:00 am - 11:59 pm

This is a 1st Tuesday of the month. If you are able, join us for Mass at 6:30am at St. Michael Church in Worthington. The address is 5750 North High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. We will gather on the St. Joseph side to pray the chaplet and litany after Mass.

As always, if you are traveling, you can use MassTimes.org to find a daily Mass near you. If you are not able to attend Mass, we may instead make a spiritual communion while we join together in prayer and fasting. Also, consider who you can invite to join you in this devotion.

Remember: when we pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory, they will also pray for us.

Here is how to participate:

  1. Make a suitable fast (water only, bread and water, etc) or mortification until 7pm. Your individual fast or mortification is up to your discretion.
  2. Attend Mass, or watch or listen to Mass and make a spiritual communion with your personal intention of offering it for the Holy Souls in Purgatory
  3. Recite the Chaplet for the Dead and litany of Prayers for the Holy Souls.

Saint Nicholas of Tolentino, Patron Saint of the Holy Souls in Purgatory, Pray for us!
Saint Catherine of Genoa, Patron Saint of the Central Ohio Purgatorial Society, Pray for us!
